Music Education Series

Bassoon player at Jenkins Middle School

What We Do

The Little London Winds is devoted to spreading the joy and love of music education among local student musicians. Each of our spring semesters is dedicated to joint concerts with area school bands. For students, there is always band at school or college but many children don't know that there are opportunities to play your musical instrument as an adult. These joint concerts give music students a chance to hear more challenging music to give them something to aspire to.

What You Can Do

Our band members love nothing more than to see a child's face light up with excitement when he or she sees an adult playing the same instrument and to hear incredible music. We sincerely hope that our fans and usual audience members join us in supporting area music students by attending our joint concerts. Not only does it give the students encouragement in their music endeavors, but the opportunity to play in front of a large audience.

As with all of our concerts, these performances are all free and open to the public. We hope to see you at our next Music Education Series concert!

2015 Mitchell Concert as part of the Music Education Series: The members of the LLW play a joint piece with the Mitchell band students.

Keep Music Alive!

Without music students, our local music culture won't survive. If you are interested in how you can help, donate to The Little London Winds so we can continue our Music Education Series or check out the Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring music programs in America's public schools.
