Andrew is currently the director of bands at Vista Ridge High School where he directs the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Percussion and teaches courses in Music Theory. He taught at Mitchell High School, Wasson High School and Galileo School of Math and Science, and Hotchkiss, Colorado where he performed in the Valley Symphony Orchestra, started the North Fork Big Band, and directed the Montrose Community Band.
Andrew holds a Bachelors of Music Education (2005) and a Masters in Music (2014) with an emphasis in Conducting from Colorado State University. He studied tuba with Dr. Robert Brewer. Conducting professors included Dr. J. Steven Moore, Frost School of Music at University of Miami; Wes Kenney, Colorado State University; Dr. Harlan Parker, Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University; Dr. Eric Hammer, University of the Pacific; and Dr. Dwight Bigler, Virginia Tech. While at Colorado State, Andrew held principal chairs in the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band as well as performing in the Graduate Brass Quintet. He holds memberships in the National Association for Music Education, Colorado Music Education Association, Colorado Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Pi Upsilon Chapter), and the Colorado Masonic Lodge.
